rowing

July 21, 2005

I dragged myself out of bed about 20 minutes earlier than usual and used the Concept II for 15 minutes, watching a little tv in the process. Our second room has a small desk chair for computer use, two small chairs that serve as a little “couch”, the Concept II and something called the Total Body Workout or something like that. I really wish there was a good way to fit in the ellipical rider in that room. It is much easier for me to exercise when I’m watching tv and I can shut the door so no one can see me. But I can’t really see how it will fit. It is, after all, a small room.

I am wondering if I should get up a chart and goal meter like I did for NaNoWriMo. It seemed to work really well as a motivator. We’ll see.

Yay for rowing!

I’m all for metrics as motivation. Choose a specific goal and it will be easy to chart your progress.

I chart my weight, but I doubt you are trying to lose weight. I also chart my waist measurement. Every 10 pounds or so I have my fat% checked by a professional with calipers.

Just last night I bought this heart rate monitor. Check out the demo. It’s to help me with my running, but I’m also interested in charting out my “resting heart rate/VOX Max” value over time.

Yay for metrics!

Another 15 minutes today! I am definitely looking into what kind of what I want.

Wow! That demo is so frigging cool. That’s most excellent. If I didn’t just get a new watch (which would no longer have any function), I would totally get this thing. Wow.
