google desktop
Could this be more awesome? I can track my blog feeds with Google Desktop now. I just used it once and I already love the interface. I ::heart:: Google’s products. See “all sizes” from the flickr page to see details.
Read and download here.
Did you forget your daily Koolaid? You can have some of mine.
I can’t figure out how to get it to auto-refresh after the first load up. Hrm…
I tried the desktop toolbar and realized that it was very helpful, but ugly. I then tried out DesktopSidebar and like it alot better. Mainly because I am a graphics whore and it is pretty.
I really like the font they use for the sidebar. I can’t tel off the top of my head what it iis though.
I have tapped directly into the national zeitgeist:
“Relax, Bill Gates; It’s Google’s Turn as the Villain”
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/24/technology/24valley.html
Google, I love you so. Why have you forsaken me and waited until I have no Windows computer any more to release the latest of your fantastic inventions?
Google, for me, is starting to cross from “really cool” to, “creapily pervasive.” I’ve read a lot about their tracking of users’ habits, and it’s beginning to sound problematic. If what they do was done by Microsoft, I’d be _really_ pissed.
But I give Google a little leeway. Even with that leeway, they’ve crossed some line that I have arbitrarily dropped somewhere.
