The only thing that makes it bearable, to me, is that it still feels like a waking dream. When Rehnquist retires or dies, it’ll become real. When Bush pushes into Fallujah, and hundreds of Americans die, it’ll become real. When Roe V. Wade is overturned, it’ll become real. When Scalia or Thomas becomes chief justice, it’ll become real. When Social Security is privatized, it’ll become real.

And by the time it becomes real, it will be too late.

I was just realizing that I will look back on this as a turning point. And not the good kind.

Not that things haven’t been bad in the past. But I think that I may look back in 10 years at this day as the day that started it all.
