lost
Arg. The tv show Lost is so good and compelling, minute-by-minute, that it’s driving me nuts. Tonight, I watched one early in the evening while Seppo was taking a nap (he has been so exhausted lately), and the fact that I had one more episode on the replayTV was so distracting that I couldn’t concentrate too well on my writing. I did, however, resolve a problem with the plot I had been having for about three days though, so I’m pretty happy.
Lost is *awesome*. Great stuff. I think the most interesting point, though, was that one of the things that makes Abrams’ writing compelling is that the plot twists are so crazy that you really buy into it. If the plot twists made more of an attempt to be “realistic,” or if more of the core characters were less crazy with their backstories, you’d buy into it less. But once you cross that threshold, it allows all of the characters to be interesting, and for all of them to have these crazy backstories that have all come together the way they have. Crazy stuff, but really, really fun to watch.
Steph and I love Lost. We’ve only been watching it for the last few weeks, but we’ve seen all the episodes (Bit Torrent rules). So go figure as soon as we get caught up the show goes on break until January, d’oh!
I used to hate everything on TV, but this JJ Abrams guy is a pretty good writer.
