Art/Personality Quiz
I am writing up the surgery details, but in the meantime…
Your result for What Your Taste in Art Says About You Test…
Balanced, Secure, and Realistic.
11 Impressionist, -3 Islamic, 3 Ukiyo-e, -10 Cubist, -2 Abstract and -9 Renaissance!
Impressionism is a movement in French painting, sometimes called optical realism because of its almost scientific interest in the actual visual experience and effect of light and movement on appearance of objects. Impressionist paintings are balanced, use colored shadows, use pure color, broken brushstrokes, thick paint, and scenes from everyday life or nature.
People that like Impressionist paintings may not alway be what is deemed socially acceptable. They tend to move on their own path without always worrying that it may be offensive to others. They value friendships but because they also value honesty tend to have a few really good friends. They do not, however, like people that are rude and do not appreciate the ideas of others. They are secure enough in themselves that they can listen to the ideas of other people without it affecting their own final decisions. The world for them is not black and white but more in shades of grey and muted colors. They like things to be aestically pleasing, not stark and sharp. There are many ways to view things, and the impresssionist personality views the world from many different aspects. They enjoy life and try to keep a realistic viewpoint of things, but are not very open to new experiences. If they are content in their live they will be more than likely pleased to keep things just the way they are.

Conscientious, Fulfilled, and Spiritual.
Or: Incorrect, correct, incorrect.
People that like Renaissance paintings like things that are more challenging. They tend to have a high emotional stability. They also tend to be more concientious then average. They have a basic understanding of human nature and therefore are not easily surprised by anything that people may do. They enjoy life and enjoy living. They are very aware of their own mortality but do not dwell on the end but what they are doing in the present. They enjoy learning, but may tend to be a bit more closed minded to new ideas as they feel that the viewpoint they have has been well researched and considered. These people are more old fashioned and not quite as progressive. They enjoy the finer things in life like comfort, a good meal, and homelife. They tend to be more spiritual or religious by nature. They are open to new aesthetic experiences.
I most certainly do not have a basic understanding of human nature. What everyone else does constantly baffles me.
How did I miss this post?
Before I get to my results, it was both interesting, fun, and lousy. It was lousy because they didn’t present works of equal caliber in each style. For whatever reason, they had some really crappy Impressionistic works by no-names, but then they’d put them up against some of the most important Cubist works of all time. They did that in most of the comparisons such as putting up some very famous Japanese works. So while they’re looking to see what style you favor, they put their finger on the scale if you know the works.
Consequently, my results aren’t anything like me. In fact, in almost every description, I’m the exact opposite.
Simple, Progressive, and Sensual
9 Ukiyo-e, -3 Islamic, -3 Impressionist, -6 Cubist, -20 Abstract and 5 Renaissance!
Ukiyo-e (浮世絵, Ukiyo-e), “pictures of the floating world”, is a genre of Japaneseand paintings produced between the 17th and the 20th centuries. it mostly featured landscapes, historic tales, theatre, and pleasure. Ukiyo is a rather impetuous urban culture that has bloomed in popularity. Although the Japanese were more strict and had many prohibitions it did not affect the rising merchant class and therefore became a floating art form that did not bind itself to the normal ideals of society.
People that chose Ukiyo-e art tend to be more simplistic yet elegant. [That’s OK] They don’t care much about new style but are comfortable in creating their own. [Yes and no] They like the idea of living for the moment and enjoy giving and receiving pleasure. [No] They may be more agreeable than other people and do not like to argue. [No way! Fuck you!] They do not mind following traditions but are not afraid to move forward to experience other ideas in life. [That’s OK] They tend to enjoy nature and the outdoors. [No] They do not mind being more adventurous in their sexual experiences. [None of your business] They enjoy being popular and like being noticed. [No] They have their own unique style of dress and of presenting themselves. [No. I couldn’t be more generic.] They may also tend to be more business oriented or at the very least interested in money making adventures. [Not even close.] They might make good entrepreneurs. [Insanity] They are progressive and adaptable. [I’m progressive, but not adaptable]
That was a fun quiz. here are my results:
